RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City officials say voters will continue to have access to the West Park Apartments polling location on Election Day despite ongoing construction on South Street.
The city has been working with contractors on the South Street reconstruction project to ensure access to the polling site near 11th Street. While South Street remains closed between 12th Street and West Boulevard, parking on 11th Street and Fulton Street will remain available.
In an update released Monday, Monument Health announced it will also open its Health Sciences Building parking lot on 11th Street, directly across from the polling location, for voters on Election Day. Temporary signage will be posted directing voters to the parking area.
City officials say temporary lighting will be installed near the polling site for early morning and evening voting hours, and construction inspectors will be on-site to help anyone experiencing difficulty accessing the location.
The South Street construction project is expected to be completed by November 20.
