Three men were arrested following a high speed incident early Sunday Morning. Police spotted a vehicle speeding southbound on Mt. Rushmore Road. The driver failed to stop immediately, continuing until reaching a cul-de-sac on Tablerock Road, where officers detained the driver and two passengers.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Trevor Patton of Box Elder, initially gave a false name. Passengers Christian Degeest, 28, of Box Elder, and Madison Dyer, 21, of Rapid City, were found to be on parole for prior drug distribution offenses.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a controlled pill and glassware with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine. Patton was arrested on multiple charges, including eluding, impersonation, possession of a controlled substance, driving without a valid license, speeding, and an outstanding warrant. Degeest and Dyer were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and parole violations.
