Two men arrested during a 2024 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally sex‑sting operation were sentenced Monday in federal court.
Brandon Bishop, 38, was convicted in 2025 of attempting to entice a minor after he arrived at a gas station to meet what he believed was a 13‑year‑old girl. U.S. District Judge Camela Theeler sentenced him to 10 years in prison, the mandatory minimum, followed by five years of supervised release.
Later that afternoon, Theeler sentenced Dustin Day, 20, of Piedmont, to two weeks in prison and five years of supervised release. Day had pleaded guilty to attempting to use interstate communication to transmit information about a minor after admitting he believed he was arranging to pay a 15‑year‑old girl for sex. The “girl” was an undercover agent.
