Governor signs trio of university construction bills; total climbs to 54 bills signed this session.

Governor Larry Rhoden on Tuesday signed three bills aimed at strengthening facilities at South Dakota’s public universities.

The three measures he signed include:

• SB 117, which funds the design and construction of a new soccer venue at South Dakota State University .
• HB 1118, which provides funding to design and build an addition to SDSU’s existing swine wean‑to‑finish barn.
• HB 1137, which appropriates money for a new athletic facility at the University of South Dakota.

Rhoden signed the bills during a ceremony with representatives from both USD and SDSU.

With Tuesday’s actions, the governor has signed 54 bills and issued one veto so far this legislative session.
