Rapid City police say two suspects in Tuesday’s North 7th Street shooting have been arrested, while two others remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators worked overnight to identify the occupants of the suspect vehicle and now believe 18‑year‑old Tyrell Yellow Thunder, 21‑year‑old Deaundrea Janis, and 18‑year‑old Antwon Long Visitor—also known as Antwon Dreamer—were inside the vehicle during the shooting.
Around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oglala Sioux Tribe police located the suspect vehicle in Pine Ridge. A short pursuit followed, and Yellow Thunder and Long Visitor were taken into custody. Several firearms were recovered. Rapid City police thanked OST officers for their assistance.
Police are still searching for Deaundrea Janis, a parolee who is believed to be armed and dangerous.
In an additional update, officers say 19‑year‑old Starla Afraid of Lightening was also in the vehicle during the shooting. She is believed to be armed and currently has a felony no‑bond warrant for failing to appear on a drug charge.
Anyone with information on Afraid of Lightening’s whereabouts is asked to call Rapid City police at 605‑394‑4131 or text an anonymous tip by sending RCPD and the information to 847411.
