South Dakota drought conditions remain mixed

The latest data from the US Drought monitor show a slight increase in areas reporting at least abnormally dry conditions across South Dakota. The March 3^rd report shows no drought in the northern 3^rd of the state. Abnormally dry conditions just north of the I-90 corridor across the state increased slightly while the bottom 3^rd of South Dakota is reporting moderate drought. About 5 percent of the state in extreme South East and South West South Dakota are experiencing severe drought conditions.
