With the partial federal government shutdown ongoing, TSA officers at Rapid City Regional Airport are continuing to work without pay. Airport officials have launched a donation effort to support the local TSA team during the furlough.
A donation bin is now available at the Ground Transportation Desk near baggage claim, where the airport is collecting $10 and $20 gift cards for grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants. The airport is also accepting nonperishable food, personal care items, and household supplies.
Officials note that cash and open-network gift cards—such as Visa or Mastercard gift cards—cannot be accepted.
All donations will go directly to TSA employees working at Rapid City Regional Airport.
