A Lead man was arrested Tuesday night after police responded to a domestic assault involving a knife and an injured elderly victim.
Officers were called to a home on Miners Avenue around 9:35 p.m. March 17. A 911 caller reported the suspect was armed, making threats, and that an elderly man inside had suffered cuts. The victims were able to secure themselves in a back room until officers arrived.
Police say the suspect, 47-year-old Mickey Yost, was found outside still holding the knife. Officers used a less‑lethal option to disarm him before taking him into custody. He faces assault and court‑order violation charges.
One Lead officer suffered a non-serious injury during the arrest. Multiple agencies assisted at the scene. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public and ask anyone with additional information to contact Lead Police or the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
