A Todd County man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for sexually abusing a minor, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Treon Eastman, 25, was sentenced to 24 months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Eastman was indicted in January 2025 and pleaded guilty on January 8, 2026.
The charges stem from incidents that occurred between April and July 2023 on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation. According to court records, Eastman engaged in a sexual act with a female victim who was between 12 and 16 years old at the time.
The case was prosecuted under the Major Crimes Act, which requires certain serious offenses committed in Indian Country to be handled in federal court.
The prosecution was also part of Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative focused on combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
