Four people were arrested early Monday after a sheriff’s deputy discovered a suspicious vehicle in a rural area northeast of Rapid City.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy spotted a vehicle driving through a field around 4 a.m. in the 25500 block of Bradsky Road. The driver, identified as 53-year-old Chad Haight of Rapid City, was found to be on the property without permission. Deputies later determined items in the truck had been stolen from a nearby residence.
Haight and three passengers — Levi Thompson, 44, of Hill City; Tara Island, 41, of Rapid City; and Misty Ebright, 38, of Rapid City — were arrested on burglary and stolen property charges, with Haight and Thompson also held on parole violations. All four were transported to the Pennington County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
