Gov. Larry Rhoden is scheduled to make a major national security announcement this morning as part of his broader effort to grow South Dakota’s defense sector.
The announcement will be made during the Black Hills Defense & Industry Symposium at 8:30 a.m. Mountain Time at The Box, in Box Elder. The governor’s office said the announcement is intended to advance Rhoden’s vision of making the defense industry South Dakota’s “next big industry.”
The symposium brings together leaders from the military, government and private sector to discuss defense-related opportunities and innovation in the region, particularly around Ellsworth Air Force Base.
