A mobile home was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon in Sturgis.
Sturgis Fire Department crews responded around 1 p.m. to a report of a structure fire at 2032 Ellen Street and found the mobile home fully engulfed upon arrival.
Fire officials said three people were inside the home when the fire started but all escaped safely. One pet was able to get out on its own, and firefighters rescued a second pet. A nearby mobile home also sustained damage from the fire.
No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.
Fire crews remained on scene for about four hours. Responding agencies included Sturgis Fire, Whitewood Fire, and Fort Meade Fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
