Area fire crews responded to several small wildfires Thursday morning, all of which were quickly contained.
The Big Bend Fire, located west of Rapid City near Highway 44 burned about a tenth of an acre and was contained by Thursday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, crews responded to the Kennedy Fire in the 12700 block of Old Hill City Road east of Hill City. That fire burned roughly a quarter of an acre and was fully contained.
A third fire, the Sand Fire, was reported just before 11 a.m. off Sheridan Lake Road west of Rapid City. It also burned about a tenth of an acre and is contained.
The causes of all three fires remain under investigation.
