Authorities say an 86‑year‑old Hill City man who had been missing for more than two weeks was found dead Tuesday evening north of town.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office said Ronald Deloss Blanchard was located along Deerfield Road by Pennington County Search and Rescue teams, who had continued searching the area following his disappearance on April 6.
Officials said preliminary findings show no signs of foul play. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death once the investigation is complete.
The sheriff’s office offered condolences to Blanchard’s family and friends and expressed gratitude to the many agencies and volunteers who assisted in the search, noting their critical role in search and rescue efforts.
