The Pennington County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications to fill two vacancies on the Pennington County Planning Commission.
Each appointment carries a three-year term, and any resident of Pennington County is eligible to apply. Officials said individuals with experience in planning, zoning, development, construction or real estate are especially encouraged to submit an application.
The seven-member Planning Commission plays a key role in guiding long-term growth in unincorporated areas of the county and reviews development proposals. The commission meets twice a month, on the second and fourth Mondays, starting at 9 a.m. Members receive a small stipend along with mileage reimbursement.
Interested residents must submit a citizen interest form outlining their background and qualifications by 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 12. Interviews are scheduled for May 19 during the county commissioners’ meeting, with appointments potentially made that day or at a later meeting.
