Police have confirmed there was no danger to the public following a report of a man carrying a shotgun near a church Sunday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to the 520 block of Cathedral Drive after receiving a call about an unknown male walking through a parking lot with a shotgun. The situation raised concern among church-goers, and police began working to identify the individual. At the time of the call, the man was described as an older white male, about 6 feet tall, with gray hair, wearing khaki pants and a blue long-sleeve shirt.
Authorities later identified and spoke with the individual involved. After investigating the circumstances, police determined the man did not pose a threat to the public or to members of the church. No crime was committed, and the incident has been resolved, according to police.
