Work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 18, on a traffic signal and roadway lighting modification project along Omaha Street between West Boulevard and Maple Avenue, according to project officials.
The project includes upgrades to roadway lighting and traffic signal heads. When work is occurring within intersections, construction will take place overnight between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. (MT). During those hours, affected intersections will operate as all-way stop-controlled intersections and will return to normal signalized operation when work is not underway.
Roadway lighting work outside of intersections may occur during daytime hours, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. (MT), and will require single-lane closures.
Motorists traveling through the area should be prepared for sudden stops, lane closures, construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zone, and workers operating close to moving traffic. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speeds through the construction area.
The $523,000 project is being completed by Muth Electric, Inc., of Mitchell. The overall project is scheduled for completion by Friday, July 31, 2026.
