A Black Hawk man has been indicted by a Meade County Grand Jury in connection with a vandalism and trespassing case reported earlier this spring in Summerset.
According to police, officers responded in the early morning hours of March 18 to a report of property damage at Rice’s Polaris. Investigators allege the suspect attempted to cut padlocks off storage units and tried to pry open coin boxes at car wash bays and vacuums, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
Authorities later identified the suspect as Reed Hess, 29, of Black Hawk.
On May 4, the grand jury indicted Hess on one count of intentional damage to property, a Class 6 felony, and one count of entering or refusing to leave property, a Class 1 misdemeanor.
The Summerset Police Department investigated the case. Hess is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
