A passenger was arrested Saturday night after allegedly attempting to force his way into the cockpit of a flight arriving at Rapid City Regional Airport.
According to police, the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on May 9 aboard an inbound flight to Rapid City. Authorities were notified after airline staff reported that a male passenger had tried to access the cockpit during the flight.
Police responded to the airport and met airline staff at the gate after the plane landed. Officers then boarded the aircraft, where airline personnel identified the passenger as 30-year-old Krish Mishra of Rosemont, Illinois.
Airline staff told police that Mishra had refused multiple requests to remain seated, even after the aircraft had landed. Officers escorted Mishra off the plane and placed him under arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Mishra was transported to the Pennington County Jail following the arrest.
Authorities reported that documentation related to the incident has been forwarded to the Department of Homeland Security for further investigation.
No injuries were reported, and the incident did not otherwise disrupt airport operations.
