Rapid City police made two arrests in separate incidents Thursday evening.
Officers first responded around 6:40 p.m. to a parking lot in the 1000 block of East Saint Patrick Street after reports of a man ingesting drugs. Police found 35-year-old Tyler Burton inside a vehicle and observed a baggie containing a white crystalline substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine. Investigators also located drug paraphernalia and said Burton was involved in distributing the drug. He was arrested on charges including possession and distribution of a controlled substance.
About two hours later, officers were called to the 500 block of East North Street for a reported fight. Police said 35-year-old Shawn Marrowbone was found assaulting another man on the ground. Witnesses told officers Marrowbone had thrown a rock through a vehicle windshield before attacking the owner. He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, felony vandalism and a parole hold.
Both men were taken to the Pennington County Jail.
