Police are investigating a vehicle burglary reported May 16 in which a loaded firearm was stolen from a parked truck.
Officers were called to a residence in the 2200 block of Philadelphia Street around 8:20 a.m. The vehicle owner told police that their truck had been entered and a firearm taken.
Authorities said there were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.
Police are reminding residents not to leave firearms or valuables unattended in vehicles. Officials noted that so far this year, 10 firearms have been stolen from vehicles in Rapid City.
