A Rapid City man has been convicted on federal charges tied to the attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, prosecutors said.
Kyle Beck, 23, was found guilty May 12 after a jury trial on charges including attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, attempted online enticement and attempted receipt of child sexual abuse material.
Authorities said the case stems from a May 2023 incident in which Beck contacted a 15-year-old girl on Instagram and requested explicit images. Evidence showed he later admitted to the conduct.
The charges carry a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and up to life. A sentencing date has not been set. Beck remains in federal custody.
