A student was arrested Tuesday after bringing an airsoft gun onto the Sturgis Brown High School campus.
Superintendent Wayne Wormstadt said in a message to parents and staff that the student was met by administrators and a school resource officer upon arrival and was taken into custody by Sturgis police.
Officials said the situation was resolved quickly without incident after students reported concerns.
The student’s name has not been released because the individual is a juvenile. The Meade County State’s Attorney’s Office will determine what charges, if any, will be filed.
