The Rapid City Council recognized local student leadership Monday night with a year-in-review presentation and the swearing-in of new Youth City Council members.
Eleven students joined the 18-member Youth Council for the 2026–27 term.
Seven returning members also were sworn in for a second term.
Founded in 2019 and first seated in 2020, the Youth City Council connects area students with local government, promotes civic engagement, and fosters leadership development. Members meet monthly at City Hall, serve on committees, participate in community events, and provide updates to the City Council.
