Voters in Rapid City and across Pennington County weighed in on a slate of local races yesterday, producing clear outcomes in county commission and city council contests. Voter turnout across Pennington County was 28.29% as 20,321 of the counties 71,837 voters cast ballots.
Rapid City Council:
All 5 Rapid City Council wards were contested
In Ward 1: Josh Biberdorf defeated Murray Lee by a 71-29% margin
Ward 2 saw Lindsey Seachris hold her seat defeating Christopher Vanderhoof by 123 votes
Kevin Maher was the Ward 3 winner defeating Andrea Schafer 58% to 42%
The ward 4 seat went to John Roberts who defeated Valeriah Big Eagle by 133 votes
Andin Ward 5 Laura Armstrong topped Patrick Roseland by a margin of 56 to 44%
Pennington County Commission:
Two Pennington County Commission primaries delivered decisive results, yesterday.
In District 1, Mike Mueller defeated Zachary Bush, winning 2,267 votes (58%) to 1,648 (42%).
Meanwhile, in District 3, Deb Hadcock turned back Randy Decker securing 1,300 votes (62%) compared to 810 (38%).
County Auditor Race Decided By Just Over 650 Votes
In the County Auditor Race, Tina Mulally defeated Sabrina Green in the Republican primary for county auditor, earning 53% of the vote to Green’s 47%.
