A second man was sentenced in federal court Monday afternoon for his role in the February 2024 beating death of Lyle Mousseau near Wounded Knee.
Myron Hollow Horn, who was originally charged with second-degree murder, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in February. U.S. District Judge Camela Theeler sentenced him to six and a half years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
According to court documents, Hollow Horn admitted to beating Mousseau with a shovel, telling investigators he was angry that Mousseau was intoxicated and damaging his mother-in-law’s home.
A co-defendant, Eugene Hunts Horse III, previously pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in January 2025 for his role in the killing and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
