A Newcastle Wyoming woman has died as the result of a motorcycle crash that occurred Monday in Sturgis. Authorities say she passed away Wednesday from injuries sustained in the collision.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the crash happened after the woman exited westbound Interstate 90 at Exit 32 and her motorcycle collided with a northbound Ford Taurus on Junction Avenue. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and no determination of fault has been released.
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries two days later. The driver of the car, a 96 year old female was not injured. The woman’s identity has not been made public, pending notification of family.
