Civil Air Patrol Cadets Sharpen Skills During Annual Encampment at Camp Rapid

More than 150 cadets and senior members from 18 states have gathered at Camp Rapid for the 2025 Joint Dakota Encampment, hosted by the Civil Air Patrol wings of South and North Dakota. Running through June 29th, the event gives cadets hands-on experience in military-style leadership, discipline, and aerospace education. Cadet Major Clover Naughton leads the training, supported by adult staff and Encampment Commander Lt. Col. Tom Anez. Activities include physical training, drill, classroom sessions, and teamwork challenges. Updates are shared via the South Dakota Wing’s website and social media.
