Rapid City police are investigating a reported shooting Saturday afternoon that left property damage but no injuries.
At approximately 2:10 p.m. on June 20, officers were dispatched to the area of East New York Street and North Lacrosse Street after reports of gunfire. When police arrived, witnesses told officers the shots had been fired from a vehicle that had already left the scene.
During the investigation, officers located multiple shell casings in the area and discovered damage to both a nearby vehicle and a residence in the 500 block of East Philadelphia Street. Despite the gunfire, no injuries were reported.
The case has been forwarded to the Rapid City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division for further follow-up, and the incident remains under investigation.
