A 27-year-old Agency Village man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in federal prison for a drug offense linked to a fatal overdose.
Canaan Renville received 21 years and 10 months after pleading guilty to distributing fentanyl that caused a man’s death in Sisseton in October 2024, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Investigators found evidence the victim had purchased fentanyl from Renville just hours before his death. Renville later admitted to selling the drug.
He was taken into custody following sentencing.
