Heavy Rain Triggers Sinkhole on North Maple, Eastbound Lanes Closed

City Streets Division crews are on scene of a sink hole on North Maple Avenue near Texas Roadhouse and Dahl’s Chainsaw Art Galleries.

Eastbound lanes on North Maple Avenue in the affected area are closed as crews assess the situation and work on street repairs.  Traffic flow will be maintained using the westbound lanes and there is no impact on access to businesses in the affected area.

Drivers are advised to use caution in the affected area and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area as crews work on street repairs.

Officials indicate the sink hole is likely the result of the excessive precipitation received in the area late Tuesday afternoon.  There is no estimate at the present time for when repairs will be completed. Updates will be provided when available.
