Governor Larry Rhoden announced the appointment of Cassidy Stalley as a circuit judge in South Dakota’s Seventh Circuit, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of Justice Gusinsky to the state Supreme Court.
Rhoden praised Stalley as a talented and respected attorney, expressing confidence in her leadership on the bench. Stalley, a Rapid City native, has worked in civil litigation, representing clients in state and federal courts. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mary and earned her law degree with honors from the University of South Dakota School of Law.
Stalley also previously served as a judicial clerk for the Second Judicial Circuit. She said she is honored by the appointment and committed to serving with integrity and dedication.
She and her husband have three children.
