Five newly elected members of the Rapid City Common Council will take their oaths of office today, marking the beginning of their three-year terms. The Council will also elect its officers for the 2025–2026 term and honor outgoing members for their service.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 300 6th Street in Rapid City. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Mayor Jason Salamun will open the session, during which the Council will address a brief agenda of old business before pausing for the ceremonial proceedings.
Outgoing Council members Jesse Ham and Pat Roseland will be formally recognized for their contributions to the Council and the Rapid City community.
Following the recognition, City Finance Director Daniel Ainslie will administer the oath of office to the incoming Council members:
- Stephen Tamang (Ward 1)
- Bill Evans (Ward 2)
- Greg Strommen (Ward 3)
- Lance Lehmann (Ward 4)
- Callie Meyer (Ward 5)
The evening will mark a transition in leadership and a renewed commitment to serving the citizens of Rapid City.
