At last night’s Rapid City Council meeting, five were sworn in for new three-year terms following their election in last month’s municipal vote. The group includes newcomers Stephen Tamang (Ward One) and Callie Meyer (Ward Five), alongside Bill Evans (Ward Two), Greg Strommen (Ward Three), and Lance Lehmann (Ward Four). Finance Director Daniel Ainslie administered their oaths of office. They join existing council members Josh Biberdorf (Ward One), Lindsey Seachris (Ward Two), Kevin Maher (Ward Three), John Roberts (Ward Four), and Rod Pettigrew (Ward Five), who each have one year left in their terms. The newly seated Council’s first task was electing leadership for the 2025-26 term. Rod Pettigrew, a council member since 2023, was chosen as president, while Bill Evans, serving since 2019, was elected vice president. Mayor Jason Salamun also honored outgoing council members Pat Roseland and Jesse Ham for their contributions to the Rapid City community.
