Fire crews responded Monday to a grass fire just outside of Sturgis that burned less than two acres, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
In a social media update, the department said South Dakota Wildland Fire personnel were assisting with the Kick Fire, which burned primarily grass with a small amount of timber involved.
Firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading in the area. No injuries or structural damage were reported.
Officials have not released information on the cause of the fire. Additional details are expected as the response continues and fire personnel complete their assessment of the burned area.
