Emergency crews responded Monday morning to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a rollover at the intersection of West Boulevard and St. Joseph Street.
Authorities were dispatched around 7:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a rollover crash. According to the Rapid City Police Department, a gold SUV traveling southbound on West Boulevard allegedly ran a red light and struck a silver SUV traveling eastbound on St. Joseph Street, causing the silver vehicle to flip over.
Two occupants of the gold SUV were transported to Monument Health for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
The driver of the gold SUV was cited for running a red light, police said.
Rapid City Fire Department crews and ambulance personnel arrived on scene shortly after 8 a.m. to assess injuries and secure the area while the crash was investigated. Traffic in the area was affected as emergency responders worked at the scene.
