The Rapid City Police Department has identified the victim in Saturday night’s shooting as 19-year-old Korben Barber of Rapid City.
Police say a juvenile suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the incident, which occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday near West Main Street and Jackson Boulevard. Officers found Barber with severe injuries; he later died at the hospital.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two groups on the 1800 block of West Main Street.
