The YMCA of Rapid City will adopt a new name—YMCA of the Black Hills—beginning Jan. 1, a change intended to better reflect its regional reach and service to communities across western South Dakota.
The organization announced Tuesday that its mission and programming will remain unchanged, with all services, staff and operations continuing as part of the national YMCA network.
The rebranding will roll out over the coming months, including updated signage, website changes and new email platforms. Officials say the shift will also help reduce confusion between the Rapid City branch and the broader association.
Despite the new name, community members, donors and partners can expect the same programs and welcoming environment.
