A Belle Fourche man died Saturday evening in a single‑vehicle crash approximately 10 miles southwest of Platte, according to preliminary information from authorities.
The man’s name has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
Officials say the crash occurred when the driver of a 2023 GMC Sierra was traveling southbound on SD Highway 1804. The vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch along the right shoulder, struck an approach, went airborne, and ultimately flipped onto its roof. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
