Police say the manhunt for 37‑year‑old Jeremy Taylor intensified Tuesday after new information suggested he may have been dropped off near North LaCrosse Street and East Anamosa Street in Rapid City, prompting a large law‑enforcement response near the Walmart area. Taylor remains armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
Taylor has been on the run since fleeing a January 30 traffic stop, nearly hitting an officer before escaping into the Black Hills with an AR‑15 rifle. Earlier searches focused on rugged terrain near Sheridan Lake, Pactola Reservoir, and Highway 16, where teams conducted aerial sweeps, ground searches, and door‑to‑door checks.
A major search Monday night near Klondike Road also failed to locate him, though investigators say Taylor has made contact with several people in recent days. He is wanted on an Ohio warrant for a sex crime and local charges including eluding and resisting arrest.
Authorities urge anyone who sees Taylor to call 911 immediately. Anonymous tips can be sent by texting “RCPD” to 847411.
