Governor Rhoden Signs Three Bills Supporting South Dakota’s Outdoor Heritage

Governor Larry Rhoden signed three bills aimed at enhancing South Dakota’s outdoor recreation, conservation efforts, and state fairgrounds.

• HB 1047 – Provides funding for construction improvements at the Blue Dog State Fish Hatchery, which produces multiple fish species for statewide stocking.
• HB 1052 – Transfers Hydro II to the Spearfish Canyon Foundation to support preservation efforts and expand public education.

• HB 1021, allows the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources to continue modernizing the South Dakota State Fairgrounds by removing aging structures that are no longer usable.
