A bill that bans candidates and political committees from accepting campaign contributions or loans from foreign nationals and establishes penalties garnered unanimous approval from the House State Affairs Committee Monday. The measure also carries an emergency clause.
It has already passed the Senate unanimously, and if approved by the House and signed by the governor, it would take effect for this year’s elections.
