Multiple arrests were made last week following a parole compliance check and a separate warrant arrest related to methamphetamine investigations in Rapid City, according to police.
Around 2:55 p.m. on April 17, members of the interagency Parole Task Force went to a home in the 300 block of East Indiana Street to conduct a parole check on 28-year-old Christian Degeest. While on scene, officers contacted several individuals, including multiple parolees, and located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the residence and a detached garage. A search warrant was obtained, leading to the recovery of additional drugs and a camper reported stolen in 2022.
As a result, police arrested Bruce Bunkelman, Rayla Habben, and Nikki Richards on parole holds and drug possession charges; Samantha Dewitt on drug possession; Hayden Hensrud for false personation and drug possession; and Echo Blodgett on an active warrant.
Later, at approximately 12:20 a.m. on April 18, officers located Degeest at 225 Federal Avenue after a report of a warrant subject in the area. A search found methamphetamine and paraphernalia, resulting in his arrest on drug possession charges and a parole hold.
