Two 18‑year‑olds accused in a February knife incident pleaded not guilty Monday to multiple felony charges in Pennington County.
James Lerat and Anthony Hill, both of Rapid City, entered not‑guilty pleas during their arraignment before Circuit Court Judge Joshua Hendrickson on April 20.
The pair are charged with aiding and abetting attempted first‑degree murder and five counts of aiding and abetting aggravated assault stemming from a Feb. 18 incident involving a knife and two alleged victims.
Court documents show some charges apply to one victim and others to the second. Under state law, Lerat and Hill could each be convicted of one charge per alleged victim, but not all counts.
