A St. Francis, South Dakota, man was sentenced after being convicted of distributing a controlled substance.
U.S. District Judge Eric C. Schulte sentenced Julian Arcoren, 37, to time served through April 20, equal to about 15 months in custody, followed by three years of supervised release. Arcoren was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Arcoren was indicted by a federal grand jury in June 2024 and pleaded guilty on March 4, 2026. The conviction stems from a January 3, 2024 incident in St. Francis in which Arcoren distributed methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
The case was investigated by Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Albertson. Arcoren was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
