Rapid City is opening all park restrooms and expanding seasonal amenities as the weather warms.
Fourteen park restrooms across the city will open Friday for the spring and summer season, including facilities at Canyon Lake, Storybook Island, Robbinsdale Park, Legacy Commons and several neighborhood parks. The Memorial Park Band Shell will open for special events beginning May 1.
Some park shelters at Canyon Lake, Old Storybook Island and Robbinsdale Park will also be available for reservation from May 1 through Sept. 30, while other shelters remain first‑come, first‑served. City officials ask residents to report vandalism at park facilities to the Parks and Recreation Department at 605‑394‑4175.
