Fire crews responded just before 2 p.m. yesterday to a grass fire off Highway 79 near Potato Butte.
Rockerville units were assisted by mutual aid partners from Battle Creek Fire, Rapid City Fire, Rapid Valley Fire, and State Wildland Fire. Crews were able to achieve a quick knockdown of the fire after it checked up against a two-track road, helping limit its spread.
The fire burned just over 10 acres. Fire crews remained on scene for mop-up operations.
No injuries or damages were reported.
