A 47-year-old Rapid City man has pleaded not guilty to multiple child abuse charges in Pennington County Court.
Kyle Soltesz entered the plea Tuesday to two felony counts of child abuse. One charge is a Class 3 felony involving a child under the age of 7, while the second is a Class 4 felony involving a minor over 7.
Authorities allege the incidents occurred between Oct. 4, 2025, and March 15, 2026. Soltesz was arrested April 10 and later posted a $5,000 bond. He remains out of custody.
If convicted, Soltesz could face up to 15 years in prison and a $50,000 fine on the Class 3 charge, and up to 10 years and a $20,000 fine on the Class 4 charge. Penalties could increase based on his prior criminal history, which includes multiple DUI convictions.
A judge recently denied Soltesz permission to travel internationally but approved work-related travel within the United States. The case remains pending.
