Former President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Sioux Falls next month as the keynote speaker for a South Dakota Democratic Party fundraiser.
Biden will headline the party’s annual McGovern Day dinner on June 5 at the Ramkota Hotel exhibit hall. The event will include a VIP reception and a meet-and-greet with photo opportunities ahead of a 7 p.m. dinner.
“It is an honor to welcome President Biden to South Dakota, especially during such a critical time for our country,” said state party chair Shane Merrill.
The McGovern Day dinner, named for longtime South Dakota Sen. George McGovern, is the state party’s primary annual fundraising event.
Biden is expected to share the stage with Democratic candidates, including U.S. Senate candidate Julian Beaudion, U.S. House candidate Nikki Gronli and gubernatorial candidate Dan Ahlers.
