Most Rapid City government offices and services will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day, with several schedule adjustments in place.
City Hall and other municipal offices will be closed for the holiday, along with Rapid Transit System services, including RapidRide and Dial-A-Ride. The Rapid City Landfill will also be closed, and trash collection normally scheduled for Monday will shift to Tuesday, while the rest of the week will operate on a regular schedule.
The Rapid City Public Library and The Monument will be closed, while administrative offices at the airport, police, and fire departments will not be open, though emergency services will continue as usual.
Some recreational facilities will remain open. Roosevelt Swim Center will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., with open swim from noon to 5 p.m., and its outdoor 50-meter pool opens for the season Saturday. Roosevelt Ice Arena will host public skating from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for the holiday adjustments.
